I. Code of Conduct

These rules and policies are set forth to avoid conflict, to create uniformity among the linkshell, and to establish a baseline for the requirements of future to-be guild-mates.

In general, we believe in free will and free association. No one here is going to "make" you do anything. We want this to be fun and we want everyone to do what he or she enjoys. Everyone in this guild is considered a “friend” or they would not be here.

We strive to promote knowledge, competence and maturity. Remember that your reputation and actions now speak for SD, so use some of these traits in dealing with others. Accordingly, we hold our members to represent themselves and the guild well and with honor.

It is important that all guild members be treated with respect and honor in all cases. If a dispute arises among members, please attempt to resolve the issue among your-selves using private tells. If conflict persists, contact an officer (Bedivere, Mikado, and Kiba) who will act as a mediator to solve the issue.

Members should also attempt to be courteous and act with dignity to others in our server.

Racism / Discrimination is neither permitted nor tolerated nor are flame wars.

Try to put other guild members before yourself as much as the situation permits.

II. Upholding Unity

Through participating in beta, our officers have concluded that our guild’s function must be slightly altered. Judging by the majority’s way of playing FFXI, people have demonstrated that they have most fun when exercising the many elements this game offers. As a forum guild for a long time, we convinced ourselves that a simple fun linkshell, where friends can meet in-game and just hang out would work for us.

We have an obligation to ourselves - no one else - to recognize that we’re looking for some hardcore and crazy fun action in FFXI… regardless of our time as dedicated linkshell of Vana’diel. Remember that hype we had years ago about this game? Let’s utilize that. Our game of dreams is finally becoming a grand reality.

As a work in progress, policies – a few standard ones which will be listed below – shall develop to truly further our image and promote a fun, and enlightening atmosphere; wielding ALL branches of this game to achieve.

1)    Activeness: All members of the Shadow Dragons will be expected to maintain a daily participation for retail. Members who know they will not be able to adhere to this policy must ask themselves whether they feel suited within the ranks Shadow Dragons.

2)    Familiarity: All inconsistently active members must make their situation clear to all members in the Clan Lounge by creating such a thread, indicating your status and status to-be. In order to stay unified as one, everyone needs to be on the same page as everyone else.

3)    Linkshell chat (/l): This channel is used for all sorts of chat, a lot is not guild business. This is perfectly fine as we enjoy getting to know each other through using this channel to talk about things in game and in our real lives. We do not encourage profanity, but you may see some now and then. We ask all to respect others and if you are asked to cease cursing, to do so without question.

4)    Multiple Pearls: For retail, we ask that all members stay exclusive to SD only. That means, not owning any other linkshell pearls to other guilds. This policy may be subject to change but if you think about the stance we’re trying to make, it certainly doesn’t help us.

5)    Leveling up: There will be a Sticky thread created in the Clan Lounge for retail entitled, “Level Status”. To keep track of every member’s level, all guild-mates will be asked to reply to this thread when they have leveled a certain job and have logged out for the day/night. You will include in this post, every job which you have more then 1 level in. An example would be, “PLD:30, WAR:15, THF:5….” Etc. not including your unused jobs. An officer with site editing authority will monitor this thread daily, making edits to the Database, and then finally deleting your post; confirmation that your application was “submitted.”

6)    Officers:

Dragon Guardian (Officer: Linksack status)
Dragon Guardians are comprised of players that have distinguished themselves. They bleed leadership, integrity, honor, sound judgment, and exemplary attitudes.

Dragon Chancellor (Officer: Guild Leader/Right-hand Sackholders)
These officers are responsible for the day-to-day guild operations: posting news, maintaining the website and forums, researching, providing answers for questions and getting groups together are just a few of their responsibilities. These are the players that can be counted on to come through day or night, be courteous. They recognize the meaning of putting the guild before themselves. Understanding what their position requires and leading accordingly is what they strive to complete.

7.)   House Guilds:

Every member will be expected to have one main guild ( Alchemist, Cook, Smither, Bonecrafter, etc.). This will really help when we know "so and so" has enough skill to make a very helpful item. This doesn't mean anyone can't craft and raise skill in whatever they want. But it does mean the person assigned to the "in-house" guild will be obligated to keep his skill up for everyone.
