If nothing else, its reassuring to see that square is keeping up with the demands of the gamers. They recently released a preview for some of the new areas that are going to be added into Final Fantasy XI. The areas include a Yutanga Volcano (south east island - you can already get an item from there for one of the quests), Cororoca Tunnel (looks like it links Gustaberg and the south west island) and Alteba Desert (The south west island). As of this moment they are not actually in the game, but will be added in a future patch(s).
