FFXI HEADED TO PC
09/22/2002

While Americans have yet to receive a taste of Square's Final Fantasy XI, Japanese gamers are already receiving a port of the title. In an effort to bring together online console and PC players, Square will be releasing a PC version of Final Fantasy XI on Nov. 7 in Japan.

With several enhancements over it's PS2 counterpart, the PC Final Fantasy XI is sure to be a hot item for PC users in Japan. By judging from the screens on the left and right, we can see a straight graphical difference between both titles. Note the darkness of the PS2 version (to the left), and the bright, higher resolution PC screenshot (to the right). Aside from graphical differences, PC gamers will also have the addition of keyboard and mouse compatibility right off of the bat.

Players with either the PC version or the console version will be able to use their accounts with either version. The PC Final Fantasy XI will be a five-CD package, and has yet to be priced.
