FINAL FANTASY XI EXPANSION PACK: VISION OF ZIRAAT 11/20/2002 Square plans to expand the world and game features of Final Fantasy XI through distribution of an official expansion disc, according to the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly. Though Square has gradually updated its game through downloadable patches many times since its release, the expansion disc, entitled Final Fantasy XI: Vision of Ziraat would add far more new content and game upgrades.
Among the additions going to be made are three new areas, new jobs (Ninja, Summoner, Blue Mage, Samurai, Geomancer and Dragoon) and the introduction of a new feature, which should be all too familiar to everyone who has played the game's predecessors - the summons. Ifrit and Carbuncle will be the first familiar faces to greet the world of Vana'diel with their might. The three new areas are:
Gazam A fishing village at the very north of Elshimo Island. It was colonized 400 years ago. Mithras make up the majority of the population. The village has its own governing body and the village people made Jakko their leader. There seems to be an airport there, but can you get there from Jeuno?
Yutanga Jungle This huge forest is located on a volcanic island to the south of the Mindarcia continent, next to Elshimo Island. The volcano is active and the whole island is covered in thicket. The island is also dotted with distinct historic ruins.
Rikyua Desert In the remote past, this was where the Galka tribe lived. Now the desert houses the remains of their prosperity. In many places there are oasis with clear, pure water flowing through them. There are neutral villages scattered around where you can replenish your stocks. Similar to Selbina and Mhaura, on a smaller scale.
