S A K U R A   Sakura, once having a secret past with the Underworld, joins Tyreal in an effort to resolve the torture inher soul and the horror the Shadow Lord inflicted upon her. Those who were crazy enough to battle beside Sakura referred to her as the "Hell Raiser". She claimed she was cursed with visions from both past and present. She would often begin fights without provocation, claiming she sought justice for crimes not yet committed. Before every battle she would sit, trance like, staring up to the skies. Sometimes, when she would fall out of these trances, she would rise from wherever she was, and leave. Not taking part in the upcoming battle. Those that knew of Sakura’s trances began to believe she could tell the outcome of a battle even before it was fought. How else could the crazy Mithra have survived for as long as she had? She became well known among the warriors of the Windurst because of her supposed gift. Warriors began to follow Sakura wherever she went, staying if she stayed, leaving when she left. She had become something of a legend, a prophet. However, one night as Sakura sat around the fire with some of her fellow comrades, she stood up, dropped what she was eating, and left. When one of the men stopped her and asked where she was going she replied, "The Ancients have called me to guard the gate to the underworld. So, I must go." Pushing past the man, Sakura began her long trek to the Underworld. In the 423rd year of the Crystal Era, the now powerful Necromancer Sakura, guarded the gate to the Underworld of Vana'diel as the Guardian of Darkness. The Underworld was infiltrated by the Shadow Lords beast men, however, and Sakura was assassinated. Sakura's murder drove the god of the Underworld insane with grief. In his madness, he unleashed a telepathic shockwave throughout the Underworld, and tainted the remaining Guardians with his derangement. Corrupted, the Guardians turned their powers to dark and poisonous purposes, and abandoned their guardianship of the gate to the Underworld. Symbiotically bound to the Guardians who served it, the gate to the Underworld absorbed the sorcerers' corruption and fell into decay. Sakura failed to persuade her successor, Tyreal, to sacrifice himself in order to heal the gate. Tyreal's refusal condemned the gate of the Underworld to an eternal stasis of near-collapse. Until the balance is restored, Sakura will never be able to access her true powers. After the assassination the mysterious god of the Underworld revived Sakura, and in resurrecting her transformed her into one of his lesser demon. As a fledgling demon, Sakura has access to the forbidden Black Magic. Sakura then resurfaces in Vana'diel, galvanized by a hunger for revenge, and a thirst not for the bloodshed of humans, but for the Shadow Lord's apostate soul. Sakura is still weak from her resurrection, but she soon gains enough energy to set off on her quest to find the Shadow Lord. On one of her many adventures hunting the dark lord, she runs in to the Shadow Dragon Clan who was being lead by Tyreal. She asks him what he is doing and he replies, "We are on a quest seeking the Shadow Lord so we can bring down the false prophet and return Vana'diel to a normal stasis again." After hearing that she demands that she be allowed to come on this quest so she can gain her revenge on the Shadow Lord. Tyreal undoubtingly lets her in. "The more we power we have backing this clan" he said "The more of a chance we have to defeat this false Prophet."
