His father was a martial arts expert and was well respected where they lived. His mother, however, was a mystery to him. She died when he was only three. Strider was always venturous and wild as a boy, which occasionally got him in plenty of trouble. When he was seven, he got into a fight against one of the other boys in the village. During the fight, the boy pulled out a small knife and lunged at Strider . He got hit in the cheek, and although it fully healed, he still has a scar there to this day. After that incident, his father began training him in the arts of hand-to-hand combat. He continued to train for the next eight years until he mastered the art. One day as he was leaving his house on the way to the dojo, he ran into the man who had gave him the scar so many years ago. The pain of being disfigured those many years ago still lingered over him to that day. Strider didn't know why the young man was back on the island after leaving so long ago, but he wasn't about to let his pain go unrelinquished. Stopping the man in the middle of the road, he began retelling the story to the man in hopes he would remember the incident. Soon a crowd began gathering around as Strider became more animated. As he recalled that day like it was yesterday, the man stood there listening while growing ever more frightened. As he neared the end of his story, Strider began to approach the man. He suddenly stopped directly in front of the man and echoed the words, "And then the knife YOU held in your hand sliced across my face!" At that very same moment, Strider raised his fist and struck the man in the face in the exact same spot where the knife had pierced his flesh eight years ago. The man instantly fell to the ground. "And that's why I look this way today!" Underestimating his strength in his current frame of mind, Strider turned around and walked away. It wasn't until several hours later he found out he had actually killed the man with the pure unbridled strength he had unleashed on the man's face. At that time, a ship filled with wandering travelers came to the island. Feeling he had learned everything he could from his father and wishing to start a new life elsewhere, he boarded the ship and left his home. When it reached the continent several days later, he said goodbye to his newfound friends and made his way to the Federation of Windurst, a nation brought up on magic and nature, where he found a job as a Martial Arts Trainer. When he turned 18, he grew restless and left his dojo. On his journey away from the city, he ran into a master warrior skilled in the use of many weapons named Tyreal. Tyreal saw the potential that Strider had in the realm of sword fighting and began instructing him in the art of the Samurai. Three years later, after mastering the art, he set out traveling again in search of a more independent life. But by the age of 22, he found his way back to Tyreal and is currently staying there, hoping to land a good job and earn a decent day's wage. | |
